Abortion Must End and it's Up to Us to End it.

Two days ago marked the seventeenth year of my visible and touchable life here on earth. I received many cards and messages from my family and friends wishing me a great day and praising God for my life, and as I sit here, thankful for the blessed life my Lord has given me, I am reminded of the millions of people who have never celebrated a birthday, simply because they were never born. Their birth never happened because of the single most appalling and disastrous practice in human history: abortion. My birth, seventeen years ago, could have been completely and legally aborted because in our society that’s “okay”. With one decision my mother could have made my life a life that would never be seen, or heard, or felt. With one decision my parents could have stopped me from ever seeing their faces, from knowing my siblings, or from feeling my family’s love. With one decision I would have never seen a full moon, or felt a cool lake. With one decision I would have never played in winter’s soft snow, smelled a blooming spring flower, watched a summer sunset, or taken a walk in an autumn forest. Seventeen and a half years ago, my father and my mother had the choice to end my life before ever seeing me face to face. But by God’s grace, my parents knew that inside my mother was a living, breathing human being. By God’s grace, my father and mother loved me before they even held me or named me.

This isn’t the case for everyone. Abortion has destroyed more lives in America these past forty years than any disease or war, and what makes it even sadder is that these lives can be saved by one simple choice: the choice of life. I could have legally been aborted, but I wasn’t because my parents didn’t make that choice, but it’s time to put an end to even having a choice because life matters more than a personal freedom of decision. It’s time to stop abortion and to stand up for what’s right.
